Public Play Days

Never played Ultimate? Play every day and want to meet new folks? Just looking to have some fun in Fayetteville? Don't miss the two ultimate frisbee public play days scheduled this spring!

The first play day is 5:30-8 p.m. May 15, and the second play day is 10:30-1:30 p.m. June 3. Both play days are at Kessler Mountain Regional Park. The first play day includes the opportunity to watch the Fayetteville Disc Association "ADA League," which is FDA's adult competitive league.

The two public play days are opportunities for families and interested residents to learn about and practice ultimate frisbee techniques in quick, pick-up style matches beginning every 10 to 15 minutes depending on participation throughout the day.

Frisbees, cold water, sunscreen/bug spray, and shade tents are provided, and attendees that would like to play should dress in athletic wear including tennis shoes. We look forward to seeing you there!

Player About to Pass Back

The Youth Ultimate Frisbee program serves a recreation opportunity for all youth to be active in a positive and safe environment. Regardless of skill level in frisbee or general athletic ability, all participants will have fun learning about ultimate for the first time or polishing up on their ultimate skills.

Picture a combination of soccer and football: ultimate frisbee. Our program games will put two teams, seven players each (7v7), against each other on a field roughly half the size of a full soccer field (depending on the age group).

Teams move the frisbee by passing it to each other, and a point is scored when a team successfully passes the frisbee into their opponents' end zone. Players cannot run when passing the frisbee, and cannot take more steps than necessary to slow down when receiving a pass. Players have 10 seconds to pass the disc. (The closest defender will count off the 10 seconds. This is called a stall count.) In keeping with rich ultimate tradition, spirit games will follow all league matches to emphasize sportsmanship, a key component of ultimate.
