Fayetteville Animal Services Joins Nationwide “Clear the Shelters”
Pet Adoption Drive
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville Animal Services announced today that it will join KNWA and Purina Pet Care to host NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters
third annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 19. On this day, Fayetteville Animal Services will offer $10 adoption fees for all pets as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters
initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters
has resulted in more than 70,000 pet adoptions nationwide. “We are so excited to team up KNWA and Purina and be a part of this nationwide event to help our local Fayetteville shelter pets find their forever homes,” stated Justine Lentz, Animal Services Superintendent.
All of the available dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, prior to going to their new forever home. Animal Services will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19 and all the pets will be available on a first come, first serve basis so shelter staff recommends that adopters get there early. Animal Services is also encouraging people to fill out their adoption applications in advance so the staff has time to get the application approved before the event. Applications are available at the shelter (1640 S. Armstrong Avenue) in Fayetteville or on the City’s website: www.fayetteville-ar.gov/petadoption
. The shelter closes at 4 p.m.
Adoptable dogs from Fayetteville Animal Services will be at the Chancellor Hotel for “Cocktails and Dogtails” this Wednesday, August 16 from 4 – 7 p.m. The adoption fee at this event will also be $10.
