Final 2017 Gulley Park Summer Concert Features
U.S. Navy Band – The Cruisers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The final concert of the 2017 Gulley Park Summer Concert Series is this Thursday, August 17. Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and Collier & Associates are very honored and excited to host the U.S. Navy’s premier popular music group – The Cruisers. Fayetteville is one of 14 cities in four states hosting a performance by the United States Navy Band during its 2017 tour. The event’s schedule includes local food vendors setting up at 5 p.m. with the performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Leashed furry friends are welcome!

As the U.S. Navy’s premier popular music group, the Cruisers feature eight of the Navy’s most dynamic performers. Their versatility provides them the capability to play multiple genres of music – ranging from rhythm and blues, pop, classic rock, adult contemporary, and jazz standards – as well as original material. This elite group has engaged and excited audiences of all ages throughout the U.S. and abroad with world-class musicianship and high-energy, fun-filled performances.

Touring the country is one of the U.S. Navy Band’s primary responsibilities and a signature outreach program. All of the band’s primary performing units embark each year on concert tours throughout specified regions of the country, allowing the band to reach out to audiences in areas of the country that do not have opportunities to see the Navy's premier musical ensembles on a regular basis. The concerts are family-friendly events, meant to be entertaining to veterans, families, individuals, and those interested in joining the Navy. All Navy Band performances are free and open to the public.

The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department gives thanks to all of the bands and fans who helped create a terrific 2017 summer of concerts – including series sponsor Collier and Associates, along with our presenting sponsors Ozark Natural Foods, Sunrise Guitars, Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney and Faucette, Beavers and Broomfield Family Dentistry, Hilton Garden Inn, and Raising Cane’s.

We would also like to thank our in-kind sponsors – The Belford Group, Hog Country Media, and Clear Channel Magic 107.9. A big thanks goes to this year’s food vendors – Tooley’s, Maggie Moo’s, Wright’s BBQ, Frickin’ Chicken, and Blackboard Grocery and Eatery. Also, our thanks goes to JTH Productions for providing great sound and lighting at all of our summer concerts. Replays of the concerts can be seen on Cox Channel 216 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99.
